FAQs: Help With Your Visit

Is The Event Inside Or Outside? 

The majority of our shows are indoors in the Grand Hall or in the Spa Theatre. Our shows advertised in our Events Guide, on our website and on social media will state where the show will take place. 

 

When Do The Doors Open Prior To A Performance? 

The doors to the auditorium will open 30 minutes before the show starts. Farrer’s Bar & Brasserie and other event bars will be open serving food and drinks. 

 

Can I Take Pictures Or Record The Performance I’m Attending At Scarborough Spa? 

The unauthorised use of cameras, mobile phones or any other form of recording equipment is strictly prohibited. Please ensure that all devices are switched off before entering the auditorium. If you are seen to be using a mobile phone or other device during a performance, you will be asked to stop. If you continue you may be asked to leave by the Spa management and no refund will be offered. 

Can I Dance During Performances At Scarborough Spa?  

 

We ask that all audience members remain seated during the performance so that we can ensure that all audience members can get a good view of the stage. If the artiste encourages dancing, this is okay and we ask that those who would like to dance are respectful to those who don’t wish to dance. 

 

Do Your Shows Use Strobe Lighting Or Loud Music? 

Some of our events use high sound, visual effects and strobe lighting. If you need to know if a certain event uses strobe lighting etc. please contact the venue and we will try and find out from the event organiser. Please note that sometimes it is not possible to know until the day of a performance. 

 

What Time Will The Show End? 

Show times vary. Where a running time is known in advance, the Scarborough Spa Box Office should have details and we will also display details on the show page of the Scarborough Spa website and on our social media platforms. 

 

We Are Running Late Will We Still Be Allowed In? 

If you arrive after a performance has begun you may be asked to wait until a suitable break before taking up your seats. If the performance has a supporting act you may not be allowed entry until the support act finishes. 

 

Is There An Onsite Bar? 

Yes, Farrer’s Bar & Brasserie is open daily serving food and drinks throughout the year. Opening times can very so please check the Farrer’s website for further information: www.farrersbar.co.uk 

For busier shows, extra bar areas will also be open throughout the venue prior to doors opening. 

During some events the bars may close when the performance commences and re-open during the interval, interval drinks can be ordered in advance from any of the bars prior to the performance. 

 

Can I Get A Meal Onsite Before A Performance? 

Yes, Farrer’s Bar & Brasserie is open on the evening of performances for pre-show dining. We would always recommend pre-booking a table. This can be done in person; by ringing 01723 357860 or using the online form on the Farrer’s website: www.farrersbar.co.uk 

 

Do You Have Booster Seats? 

Yes, booster seats are available. Please ask a front of house staff member who will be happy to assist you. These will be issued on a first come, first served basis. 

 

Can I Take My Pushchair Or Pram Into The Auditorium? 

The Spa Theatre does not have the space to accommodate pushchairs or prams these will need to be left in the Theatre Foyer and are left at your own risk. The Grand Hall does have space for pushchairs and prams but this can change on an event to event basis. 

 

Is There A Dress Code? 

There is no dress code for standard events unless specified. 

 

Am I Allowed To Bring A Bag? 

For the safety and comfort of all customers, we would advise that all bags brought to the venue are no larger than a handbag. Larger bags, backpacks or suitcases will not be permitted in the auditorium. The Scarborough Spa management reserve the right to carry out random bag checks and searches when and where they feel it necessary. 

Please do not leave any of your possessions unattended anywhere in the venue. Any items left unattended may be classed as suspicious and the appropriate action taken. 

The venue cannot take any responsibly for loss or damage of any personal items. Items left in our cloakroom are also left at your own risk. Please make sure to keep your cloakroom ticket.

Can I Smoke Or Vape Inside Scarborough Spa? 

No, there is no smoking or vaping allowed anywhere inside the venue. During large events we may provide a smoking area in a designated outside area. 

 

Do You Have A Cash Machine At Scarbororugh Spa? 

Yes, there is an independent cash machine on site in our main foyer. Please note that this machine does charge for cash withdrawals. 

 

I Think I Have Lost Something. Do You Have A Lost Property?

Do You Have Parking Outside The Scarborough Spa?  

Yes, there is parking available outside of the venue. Please visit www.scarboroughspa.co.uk/plan-your-visit/parking for more information about parking. 

If you are attending an evening show, please be aware all seafront car parks are free after 6pm. 

 

Can I Bring My Dog Into The Venue? 

Dogs are allowed into the main foyer and the dog friendly area of Farrer’s Bar & Brasserie. We also have a dedicated dog friendly toilet available for your use. Dogs are not permitted in any other areas of the venue. 

Assistance Dogs are exempt from these rules. If you will be attending a performance with an Assistance Dog, please make the Box Office aware when you are booking your tickets.

What Facilities Are There For People With Disabilities? 

Scarborough Spa has accessible seating areas in both the Grand Hall and in the Spa Theatre. There is also a loop system in both auditoriums. Please let a member of staff know if you wish to use this. 

We also have lifts to all floors.
