Last year’s centenary celebrations seem like only yesterday, and yet here we are already with another 15 week season of wonderful music. 

We look forward to seeing many old friends in our audience, and we also hope to be able to welcome new faces as well – not least because we had such a good response to our television appearances on the Antiques Roadshow (BBC) and Ade in Britain (ITV).

Though the weekly pattern of performances has changed slightly this year, the concerts themselves will retain their usual friendly familiarity.  You’ll notice that in the list of Thursday night Galas we have retained a few which always seem to be popular, and we’ve added some new ideas as well which we hope you will find entertaining.  There is also innovation in the Friday morning concerts in August and September.  “Light Fantastic” mornings will feature a little more dance band music than usual, and will offer the opportunity to take to the Ocean Room dance floor for those who want to – but in all other respects these will be normal concert programmes for those who just want to sit and listen.
